Username Protected wrote: So Todd, how much are you asking for the Glasair now that you want a Piper? I am going to see if I can afford both. I really like this plane. Heck I like all of them I have owned! Seriously, though, this plane is a pilot's plane. It is like a fine lightweight high powered rifle. You point and shoot and get a flat trajectory. It is hard to describe until you fly one. The heavy wing loading makes bumps disappear and it looks fast sitting on the ground.

Username Protected wrote: Todd, that's a good description. I love flying my SX. When by myself, nothing comes close. It's faster than the KA 90 I fly from time to time. Frequently see 18-19 NMPG....just incredible.
New engine is done, going to be on it soon, I hope. Would be fun to fly the SX and yours side-by-side.
stan We will have to do that sometime! I'm hoping for roughly 220 knots true on 13.5 GPH at 11k ft. I was getting 210 knots with the old prop. If I ran the engine at 18 GPH I was getting about 227 knots. I think you are getting about 245 knots, so you will have to wait up on me! I think you have a little more efficient wing and your cabin size is smaller for less drag. Believe it or not, the cabin in the Glasair is slightly wider than a Bonanza. My wife and I were very comfortable in our 2000 mile round trip to FL along with 100 lbs of bags!

Two of the best looking single engine planes in the world IMO. Would be a great picture! Maybe at Max's this spring? I plan on being there in the Glasair.

Did you go GDL39 for the ads-b data in or GDL88?
... Brian, Do you know for certain that the G3X will work with a GDL-88? The only documentation I could find was for a G3X connected to a GDL39. Thanks, Geoff
