Well, they broke ground on my hangar, esciting stuff. I have been working on the interior design and have been trying to figure out a bed situation for the apartment as there are no walls at all, nyc loft style.
Anyways, i came up with the idea of a sleeper plane parked in the hangar, air conditioned of course.
Plan 1: a huey fuselage? Sitting on the ground, nice flat floor.
Plan 2: a xyz 60s bizjet fuselage lofted above with a spiral staircase. Possible the fuselage running from inside the hangar to inside the living space, elevated. A lear 23 is narrow but would be nice.
Plan 3, youre nuts just install a loft or murphy/wall bed...ditch the plane idea.
Now, the plan for this is not uncle earls cobbled together bunkhouse, this has to be professionally done. Goal is to make DWELL magazine with this thing!
Granted this is a nice first world problem to have, any ideas?
Mike

Gulfstream, cabin size of an old G1 turbo prop is same as the G2 or G3. Most of those are in salvage yards now. An ealy challenger would be a bit wider.

Consider the front fuselage section of a 747. Then you can have a 2 level loft area.

This is getting built at Grassroots Airpark in central Florida.
They just starting putting up blocks today. It's going to be a lot of fun indeed.
Mike There is a stripped out Eclipse sitting on the ramp here at Double Eagle. Im told it is one of the first ones built and was used for testing/certification. You could probably buy it for a ham sandwich. If you are interested PM me and I'll see what I can find out.
