Sounds like a plan! I'll look forward to it. I'm in on the bbq also.

Will it live inside or out? If you need a ramp-able plane it narrows your options a lot.

Inside. if other than KHQZ it has to be at least covered. Splitting a hangar 4 ways shouldn't be an issue.

I have an A36 and I love the plane. I have several friends in the same place. We have the travel plane for family, friends and high useful load. None of us want partners on our main plane, but to have a second plane for just flying pattern or slow and low would be fun. Looking at the tail wheel endorsement but once you get it where are you go to rent?

Idea was 4-5 going in on a small 2 passenger plane. So far the ideas were a Cub, Citabria, Champ or RV3/4. I don't see me wanting to do aerobatics but flying a bit of stick and rudder would be fun. The RV got thrown in last weekend after one of the guys went flying in one and got a perma-grin on his face.

I see a lot of guys with the Bo plus another. Ideas??

The rvs are fun. Great airplanes for flying trips and throwing around the sky locally.
The cub series and the champ are a hoot but a little more down and dirty. And really only fun on local flights. I would go with a pa-11 or pa-18. Or an expermintal version of the same. If they are over budget get a champ.
I would steer away from a citarbia if I had the choice.
Both the rv and cub have a large social group. But they are diffrent role airplanes. Define your mission further and you can't go wrong.

I've been flying my citabria almost every day. It is fun. Not sure why I would stay away from it, other than making sure you are staying pretty modern. Mine is a 2001 and, believe it or not, IFR equipped. That is important out here where I might possibly need to shoot an ILS to get through the marine layer if it comes in unexpectedly.
