Agree. We've gone in there and it was reasonably and we were treated well. We go to Rockford and Madison a lot and do well there also. North American in Rockford is a bit better to us but not open Sunday. The fuel bill from Rockford sure has a lot of add-ons. Hard to blame the FBO for that.

Does the FBO that you are paying the fee have any liability for the safety/protection of your aircraft?

If so, I would think that they could reason that the higher fee was for the increased liability if the aircraft was somehow damaged while in their care. :popcorn:

I get this strategy based on principle but realized with the AC90, which like the KA90, it is $1,000 to $1200/ hr to fly. Every 6 minutes of flying time is $100-$120. Sometimes you can outsmart yourself looking to save on FBO charges. I used to park at Bishop CA and drive to Mammoth cause it was $20 for a 310 and $200 the AC90. A lot longer than 20 miles as I recall. By the time u rented a car, drive, paid to park, walked to the lodge....bah. They got me. If I don't like it just fly the 310....oh wait...that's what I did. Ha.

Gary is a good choice too. I can confirm that they're super nice.

My business in Chicago is usually in the burbs, so DPA is closer. If you need to go into the city, Gary is also a great choice.

This. The hangar is cheaper than a de-ice and you don't have to clean the plane afterwords.

On my recent trip, I paid for the hangar in both Iowa City and Chicago. In both cases, I was glad that I did.
