This is my second landing.
Speed penalty? 1 kt maybe 2kts , but no more and I dont care,I already feel the difference when landing on this wet grass strip , and looks much better too. :D

This was a very generous donation from Michael Penman from this forums, great gesture and thank you very much :)

Excellent...

If you ever get the urge to get into some rougher stuff, there is an STC to put a very substantial front "fork" and larger tire on the nose...... I think they do it here in Idaho.

Yep.... just found it. Bunch of guys around here have them.

206 tires? I dig it, any mod to the nose gear or firewall?
Post more pics, very cool.

Excellent landing. Looks like the same size I had on my 182, 8.00's on the mains and a 6.00 nose. Top of the green I got 128 knots true.

Nice plane Scott.
It is a heavy duty cessna 182 fork, direct replacement of the standard one.
No reinforcements to firewall.

Hi Larry,

Might suggest you lift the nose higher from the ground by three to four inches. Protects your propeller blades and gets you off the ground faster on rough field strips. It's been my experience with bush strips you can always land shorter than you can on take off. Cheers!

Larry,

Yes, that what I mean, very common to see a pitch up on these modified nose forks. I did this to my C-172E w/STOL and manual flaps used 7.00 on front and 8.00 on mains. Required steel axels for the upgrade used a C-206 nose wheel. I lost about 7kts of airspeed but what a beach bomber. If you ever get your self in a situation where the aircraft is stuck in soft sand or soft material, let some the air out of the tires to get wider flotation over the ground. cheers!
