I've wanted a Bonanza for a long time. I sold my last airplane (a '64 Cherkee 140) last November. I began looking hard for a Bonanza. I looked at a P model and flew it. It had a lien on it. 7 months later, it sold. I looked at a K model with a REALLY nice panel. It just wasn't what I was looking for. I looked at another P model. It was nice but we couldn't agree on a price.

I saw SHARP '64 S model on BT last December. The owner and I traded some emails. I really liked what I saw and read about it. I thought it was more than I was able to justify for an aircraft. I didn't see it anymore but I didn't forget about it. It appeared again on BT a few weeks ago. I contacted the owner, Sean Mickler. Sean stopped by about a week later. My family and I met with Sean. That Bonanza was awesome when it taxied up to the FBO. We spent a couple hours with Sean. We made the deal pending a pre-buy inspection.

I contacted Jerry Hammock of Hammock Aviation in Ennis, Texas (F41). Jerry agreed to do the pre-buy. Sean flew the Bonanza to Ennis the following week. I spent most of the day with Jerry and Ben (his last name I forget). Jerry was so easy to work with. He showed me things I didn't know about Bonanzas. All he's ever worked on is Bonanzas. There were 5 in his shop that day besides this one. If you get chance, do an advanced search on BT for Jerry Hammock. I stopped reading after the 8th page. ALL great experiences and recommendations. Bottom line...Jerry is a good man.

I called Sean that night. The deal was final the next day. The next day after that, my initial and instrument instructor and 20+year friend, Dave Austin, checked me out in the Bonanza. My son, my wife and I are really enthused and are looking forward to some traveling and $100.00 BBQ.

The panel is older. Upgrades are hopefully in my future in the next year or 2.

Sean, thanks for remembering me and for 777FH. Sean's a good man and has taken pride in this Bonanza. Thanks to those on BeechTalk that have answered my questions and educated me.

I'm posting some of Sean's pics and a couple I've taken.

Nice, congrats. I like the paint. What's the story in the N number?

Sean picked it. He wanted an aircraft with the 777 for a long time and the FH is for his grandfather's initials. I understand he was quite the aviator and a great influence on Sean.

Thanks

I've seen that plane. It looks as great in reality as it does in the pictures. Congratulations!

What's next, Sean?

That is a beautiful airplane. Consider going to Cedar Mills in two weekends. They have a wonderful fly-in every October. Leldon will be there and usually several other BTers.

Very nice! I can't imagine how much of an upgrade it is coming from a Cherokee 140.

Enjoy the heck out of it!

Thanks Chris Walsh! I agree. I think so, too...

Yes, David Nazem, Jerry is a good fella'. I'm glad I met him. I'm sure I will use him in the future. I did see your Bonanza when I was there. I also watched it on Barnstormer's before you bought it. Jerry had good things to say about N21CN. It's a nice one and will be awesome after the conversion.

Thanks Luc! I agree. I intend to do just that. Still wanna see the Red Bo in person some day! Red's my color. Love your Bo, too...

Thank you, Drew!

Thanks, Rodney! Yes, I do love the S's.

Thanks, Tod!

Thanks, Glenn! I will plan on it. I haven't been there since about '98 when I kept my J-3 Cub in Denton. I hope to see you, Leldon, Doug and C.K. there!

Thanks, Leldon!

Thank you, Jerry! I will!

Thanks, Sean Mollett! It's like going from a stick horse to a race horse!
