You have to step forward and down (over the evap module) into the footwell which requires a bit of a stretch. Getting in the back seat is much easier and its very comfortable. You literally walk straight in to the rear foot well. I think evaporator location was changed with the G3 cirrus and beyond (mid 2007) and no longer has that box there. its just like the pilots side. Corrected the box is still there, just slightly smaller...

This was a new G5 at OSH.

Then they made the box smaller. I fly a G2 and the box is big and does get stepped on from time to time. Attachment: Screen Shot 2014-09-03 at 6.53.31 PM.png you can see the small box in front of the co pilot's seat.

You literally walk straight in to the rear foot well. You should try getting in mine. I have a little black box about 5x8 and 6 inches high velcroed in front of that evaporator to hold all the little things you need while flying like flashlight, PLB, sunglasses, etc. We can all figure out ways to make things work better but one thing the Cirrus doesn't have is enough storage space of that kind. I miss the "bucket" under my F33A's power controls. Of course I missed when I had the A36 too because they had eliminated it. In the Cirrus the center console holds manuals and is cluttered with headset wires which makes it useless for small items in my opinion. Still, even with all of that in the way I find it easier to get in the copilot's seat than I did the pilot's seat in my A36. Nothing's perfect...

This reminds me of the guy that got on BT a couple years ago and was complaining that the useful load on a G36 wasn't enough for 3 people...... Everyone replied "yes it is". We went round and round only to later find out that him, his brother and his dad each weighed between 260-300lbs.
