After a 30 year hiatus from General Aviation flying, my teenage son interest in flying brought me back. After 15k + hours and Typed in B737, B757/767/777, A320, I re instated my CFI, CFII, MEI seven months ago. My son and I have been flying quite a bit and he is now just 27 hours shy of his commercial check ride. On his time building quest, We flew a Duchess from Florida to Virginia, and in a few weeks will be flying a H35 on a 3800 NM flight to Brazil. I must say that I am having a blast flying the H35, she is a great flyer and loves to dance specially on those windy/bumpy days...Thanks to other tips and experiences posted on here, the V tail crosswind landing having been a non event. Attached is our plan route and a picture of the lady, she is a hands full....

Thank you all....I will keep you updated on our trip...The GoPro Camara will be put to good use... The one concern that I had was the H35 fuel system. Specifically the fuel return back to the left tank. She has Aux tanks so my total is 60 gallons(53 useable). Left tank first, then Aux, then Right tank. So you have to really trust the fuel gauge...I have done many test flights locally testing the system to its limits and I must say that it's pretty accurate. I am feeling very comfortable that the last hour on the left tank is an accurate guesstimate. This Bonanza has made a believer out of me.

Welcome aboard, that looks like a great trip.
Are you based at Tamiami Airport? I learned to fly there while living in Florida in the 90's. I miss Florida but love the mountains.
-Mark Lived just a few minutes away from Tamiami in the early 90's. Hurricane Andrew did a number on our house, so we move to Fort Lauderdale. We really would like to move to Denver some day. We like the mountains and miss the seasons... Lee
