Pictured is my friend's 1944 Stearman. When he bought this project he literally had a frame and landing gear along with a data plate. He built the wings from plans to exact standards and did 100% of the build himself. Th build spanned nearly 8 years. There is not an item on this plane that is historically incorrect except for the electrical system. He even was able to figure out who inspected the airplane originally in 1944 and had the proper inspection stamps fabricated and put them on the plane in the proper place. This thing is truly incredible. I will post a short video later as well.

cool, Todd...even has the (more rare than the Conti) Lycoming 225 engine. I still have some parts for one of those laying around...

They are a blast, aren't they?

Stan,

You should see this thing. The owner pictured did everything he could to ensure that the plane is 100% historically correct. I felt like a WWII airman student climbing into a fresh-off-the-line Stearman ready for my training.

It was fun sitting behind that radial engine in the open air.

Truly neat. I've had a couple of those "back in time" moments flying the old warbirds. Thank God some of the guys like that keep doing them up right.

Glad you got to experience it.

I had a ride in one, it is a very fond memory. As well as my Tiger Moth ride. Antique planes will always have a magic about them.

Very cool, Todd. They are fun old birds indeed. I just bought one on Friday. I'm really looking forward to flying it when I get back to the US in a week!

You will like it. It has a solid feel to it and a nice large cabin to sit in. Something about being in the open air. Let's see now, Citation, L39, Stearman.... What is next???
