I stand corrected. I want my friends to do well in their businesses! I am sure I am different in that regard than everyone else...
My point remains the same. I am SURE we can find pissed off Mustang owners, Phenom owners, Cirrus owners, G36 owners.
One would have to do his or her own due diligence and speak to other owners and decide if Eclipse is worth doing business with.
There are usually 2 sides to every story.

Not so fast there Mr Cheung, I've got no beef whatsoever with my Baron.

I dont believe that price is out of the ordinary for a jet.
From earlier mention of the issue, replacing the windshield was a rather burdensome process compared with other jets. Given the cycle-limits on those windshields at one point in the history of the plane, that added a lot of downtime and labor.

Maybe that's just the share equity, and there is a monthly loan payment that goes along with the share.

That's an iFMS plane. With the time on it, depending on a couple variables it is worth between $1.1-1.3m.

I have been following this thread closely because I'm soon to be in the market and need to decide if I want to dump a bunch a $$ into the Baron, step up to a turboprop (KA, TBM) or a jet (Mustang, Eclipse). There are 19 Eclipse 500s on Controller currently. Given there are only a few hundred flying aircraft that seems a bit extreme. What is the story? Are these all turning into pumpkins if the owner doesn't spend $1M? Is there a thread or website that accurately details what you get, don't get, airframe limitations, or other pending $$ issues, with the 500's. Something must be driving all of these nice jets onto the market. Sorry if I sound like I just fell of the turnip truck and missed a big discussion on this very topic.

There is a WIDE range in configuration from first to last s/n delivered. The earlier ones are soon to be paperweights. The later ones need nothing. Very airframe dependent. 1.0 pre ETT first 40 planes delivered. slower, less fuel, lower gross weight, avidyne avionics (nothing works- inop stickers on everything. autopilot is not more than a wing leveler. no gps, no de-ice, no radar, etc) There are only a couple of these still flying in that config. 1.0 ETT extended tip tanks and speed mods 1.3 upgraded de ice but no fiki, newer screens 1.5/1.7 I lumped these together because they are basically the same. This is where the jet was more or less finished. I believe these are the best configurations. dual garmin 400s coupled to the aircraft's PFDs. you have moving map, a much better (and coupled) autopilot, FIKI, wx radar, traffic, etc. 1.7 adds plates on the mfd but nobody uses them because they are way overpriced. iFMS/Total Eclipse gamins are removed, ISS FMS fitted, few extra goodies. There is the SEP on top of that which adds anti skid brakes. Then there will be the 550. The last airworthy and flying pre-ett plane I know of just sold for $400,000. (I don't have any recent 1.3 sales where I was privy to the contract price.) 1.5 and 1.7s are trading hands around $900,000. iFMS upgraded and Total Eclipse you can pay up to $1.3m.
