I will not talk you out of it! Sounds like a whole lot of fun. You've flown the plane, you know whether you can afford it, and I'm sure you understand its inherent risks. Go for it!
-Charlie The alternative is to sell everything that moves faster than 15 mph, get in bed and pull the covers over your head. As my daddy used to say: If you eat properly, don't drink or smoke or stay up late and avoid carousing with fast women; you may not live longer, but it will sure seem like it!

If I bought one that had hot seats, the first thing I would do is deactivate them.
David- I will take you up on your offer. PM coming your way. Thanks!

Last time I said something critical about the L39, I got verbally beat up by someone who has a commercial interest in selling them. Be very careful about anyone you are dealing with when it comes to that class of aircraft, each of them has an agenda, and it rarely coincides with your interests. I think I was in that fiasco of a post...

A Great Source of information on L 39s is Randy Howell head of the Patriots Jets demonstration team. He imported, and rebuilt all of the seven team jets. Super nice guy. Google Patriot jet team.

You need to find one that has been serviced by International Jets, Arlington Jet Center, Vladie at Thermal Airport or Alby at Reno Stead. I live in Athens, AL and while I will never be able to afford one of these jets the fact that excellent service is available right down the road in Gadsden would be a huge factor to me if I was ever in a position to buy one of these toys.
