Home based at PWT Bremerton WA. Now going thru its first annual in 5 years. I think we are nearing the end of the bad surprises.. I today found out how much a pitot tube costs. WOW. There is a wealth of V Tail expertise here that I am taking advantage of, because I have ZERO. Thanks, John, for the help. Excited for my first flight in about 2 weeks. With somebody smart sitting next to me. i'm enjoying surfing all the BT posts. Dick N191B Why do they always post upside down?

Dick, Welcome to BT. It is really impressive how you have made the pretty V-Tail hang upside down Anyway, just curious. What kind of issues have you run into as it relates the plane sitting? Tim

Few. The former owner did a very thouough job of pickling the engine. There are numerous brake leaks, fuel drain leaks, and hardened gaskets on the fuel fill caps. All relatively small, compared to other Beech costs, I'm discovering. The cam followers had pitting on them and I'm having them replaced, but as the cam was totally immersed in preservative, I think the pitting occured before the lay up. One magnesium ruddervator had some filaform corrosion, just starting, needing re painting but not replacement. The only really big problem was the landing gear needed very extensive work, but that canT be blamed on storage. It was hangared the whole time

Great looking airplane! I first thought you were sending pictures from Australia. Tom

Yes the iPhone is a terrible design in this regard. Since you can shoot the picture with the volume up button, it is natural to hold it upside down. Also, since the phone knows it's orientation, it is really dumb that it does not fix this itself.
All hail apple!!!!

If you still have the E-225 engine, the case has to be split to change the lifters/cam followers. That is a lot of work and expensive unless someone has a tecnique I'm not aware of.

1. Thanks for the welcome and nice replies 2. Not an I phone, I was able to screw it up with my IPAD. Oddly, if you tap your finger on the picture on this post, IT TURNS RIGHTSIDE UP. 3. About the lifter replacement, I didn't know about having to split the casing, fortunately it has a IO 470 N, which I am told is a very good thing, and the lifters came right out the push rod holes with a stick with a hook on the end. 4. I'm getting smarter by the minute, or at least learning the lingo to sound smarter. 5. Still waiting on parts, desperate to go fly it!

Take your time and enjoy the ride. I know that is easier said than done. Good luck.
