This sounds like a strategy against the chute.

Who needs a 'chute when you have two engines? :hide: :deadhorse:
The chute isn't about the pilot....its about the copilot. It doesn't matter how many engines you have when your wife in the right seat has no idea how to fly.

I demoed the 550 a few months back. They fixed nearly all of the issues from the 500. It's an amazing airplane. The only thing keeping me from owning one at the moment is the cost of entry!

This may be a bit off topic.
An old friend Vern Rayburn darkened my door way last week, folks that know the Eclipse will know this name. Vern was an old customer and one of the original investors in my company Corporate Air Technology. Vern was a customer initially owning a Beech Duke for many years. He worked for a local firm, Symantec at the time.
Before Vern's vision of the Eclipse ( Pre Paul Allen money) Vern's vision was to refurb the Duke with fresh engines, winglets and exclusive paint and interiors.
Vern insists the Eclipse had been three months from profitability when the bottom fell out. He had a firm commitment (as firm as his gets) from Vladimr Putin to build an assembly plant in Russia.
Vern is a brilliant fellow and a bit of a Teflon Tony, always landing on his feet. Vern's current project is a high altitude communication platform. It is essentially a solar hybrid powered glider that can stay on station for months doing the job of satellites far cheaper. The company, Titan Aerospace was approached by both Face Book and Google as an acquisition, Google won out so We will be seeing more of Vern. God I wish Face Book or Google were looking for a good FAA Part 145 Repair station.
By the by Vern's current ride a Sieries V Ram C414, with this acquisition, my guess that will turn into something that whistles rather than whirrs.
