A few partners and I closed on our (new to us) 1972 Bellanca Super Viking yesterday. It has about 2400tt and 370 on the IO-520K engine. We plan to make some upgrades, including an EI CGR30p, an aux fuselage fuel tank and adding the factory ski tube. Once we get the engine monitor in, GAMIs will surely follow. I'm moving into the Viking from my former flying club's 67' C33A Debonair. While the Viking isn't a Beech (and I'll miss the precise flight speed brakes on the Deb), I think it will serve my partners and I well. The 1100+lb useful load should help make it a good cross-country machine. Pictures, of course: Attachment: IMG_0137.JPG Attachment: IMG_0132.JPG Attachment: IMG_0131.JPG Attachment: IMG_0128.JPG

Robert No Viking is complete without the fuzzy dice. If you roll it just right, they will stay exactly where they are. I am not saying you should loop and roll it, but I assure you, fro what I heard from my "next door hangar neighbor", a Decathlon has a heck of a time keeping up with a Viking. The only run of the mill GA airplane I know that will do snap rolls without breaking anything. On the other hand, you must be a skinny fellow Congrats

Robert Those were in the plane and a critical part of getting the deal done.

Awesome airplane, I have about 500 hours in them. I'm sure I know this tail number from somewhere. You probably won't see 160 ktas. That is possible in the later planes with the revised cowling and nose gear doors. You have an honest 150 knot airplane, but it's a dream to fly. I know I will be chastised for saying this on here, but the Super Viking handling characteristics made my A36 feel like a dump truck! Enjoy!
