I remember watching a video about it several years ago. Seems like at the time it was being tested somewhere. First of heard if it since though.

I think it’s part of the RWSL (Runway Status Lights System). Not sure if every RWSL airport has FAROS too but I remember reading about it when looking at the RWSL system when it was installed at KMCO.

Just read about this new system a couple of days ago. Sounds like it may have some promise.

Whadda you doing? Studying for ATP written? If so, cool!

Ive seen FAROS working at BOS on runway 9 but I don't believe it's on all the runways. I've seen it working in DFW and LAX as well. I don't know who else has them. I think San Diego does but I've never seen them on there.

Give it a day and you will want the left one stabbed. I did the course at ATP in Sacramento. Sit there and run through correct answers for 4 hours then jump on the computer. It was the second time I took it because my previous one expired after I left the airlines.

Why am I answering ADF questions? Hey FAA...the 1980’s wants its test back!

Well, the most likely case you would use an ADF is being an airline pilot operating internationally. So perhaps ADF questions for getting an ATP make more sense than any other rating.

Wow, nice job. I was wishing I was there but looking at the weather.......

Is the altimeter that is built into the video broken?

Pressurization is messing with it.

Just make sure you double check that they load the correct ATP exam version. I studied for Part 121 and ended up with the Part 135 test. I asked the lady afterward why she gave me the wrong version and she was "oh sorry, most of the kids take the 135". I passed so it didn't matter.

The 121/135 distinction and jet vs turbo prop tests were done away with in 2014. Just three texts now. Multi engine, single engine, helicopter.
