Just coupled the Visual in my Dad’s Bonanza. GTN750/G500/KFC200
Used heading mode to intercept, armed approach mode. It coupled the localizer and the GS perfectly.

I assume you chose the visual to 21?
If so, it looks like you were off to the right of the extended centerline, was the 750 going to turn you left to intercept the centerline?
So what did you end up doing, just flying it in visually without using the vis appch on the 750?
Kind of seems like it's more trouble that it's worth? Look at the cdi. Set up for 3. As programmed

That wouldn't work to well from north of the airport either Bottom line is a don’t know how to use it or it’s not working correctly. I thought it would fly me to the visual waypoint 3 miles out.

Update on Bonanza. Vertical guidance available at KPAN, but unavailable at KHII.

Just tried doing the visual approach to KSDL Rwy 21 on the 750 simulator, I hadn't spent any time with it before. Did just what Marks plane did when north of the airport -- left turn to 079 for a 45 degree intercept of the final appch course. That sure wouldn't work. Sort of surprised there isn't some level of logic that won't permit that from a position where the 45 degree intercept won't merge with final outside the three mile fix that I believe is used for glideslope intercept. What does work well is inserting a waypoint before the visual approach that is outside of the three mile fix on final, could be a couple miles outside and to the side of final (more outside than offset from to ensure intercept outside 3 miles) that you're on or could just be outside but if you're traveling fast (8 miles a minute? ), watch out for that big sweeping turn! Navigate to that waypoint and the flight plan will sequence to the visual, intercept final and should normally provide a glideslope though I didn't verify that on this experiment. Thanks for the impetus to figure out how this thing works Mark, it's very tempting to "be a man" and not read the directions. And good that you have good SA, were familiar with the area and quick to recognize the unintended action.
