Whenever I hear "delete speed restriction" I take it as I can now fly whatever speed I would like. I think that is poor phraseology to say that and then expect you to keep at least 250 kts.

As we all know, ATC cannot waive the 250 below 10,000 speed restiction to a higher speed - unless you ask for it for operational reasons (i.e. clean stall speed requires more than 250K, but that would be a stretch in a Citation).

I wonder if being Sammy Hagar is an acceptable operational reason to break 250 kias below 10K!

I couldn't resist, my mind when straight to I can't drive 55 when I read this post :D

Now some of us wish we could get to 250 (without a tail or wing folding) to begin with, but that is a whole other topic!

Jeepers...I just got into a turbine and thought it was cool that I might have to watch 200 in the Class D. 250 in a climb is only a dream! :)

We used to routinely depart class D and exceed 200 at one place I flew the Citation. When I tried to slow once, the instructor asked what I was doing. He said, no one expects you to do that here in a jet. Just sayin
Vmo on our C90 is 208, so, not much to worry 'bout for us. I seldom exceed 190 unless it's smooth and a long descent.

I hope and pray there is a Citation version of Tom Clements. I need all the help i can get! New rating Sunday March 18 at 1500 hours. Pick up the new ride on Thursday March 22 if everything goes well at the shop.

Hello!

Noob to the forum here, and just binged all 238 pages of this! thanks Dave and Mark for the good read. Im not sure I'm Jet Elite, but I have type ratings and that is what pays the bills. Currently flying lear 40/45/70/75's, have about 1000hrs in falcon 50/900's, and have maybe 60hrs in c550 and Ultra's. I'm pretty sure its everyone's dream to fly jets on your own schedule, so its been a fun read.

Question for Dave, how has it worked out for you? Are you still dry leasing? Any headaches to report with that arrangement? How many hours are you getting a year?

Again, thanks for all the entertainment, back to lurking....

Joel

Welcome Joel! Nice entrance. I will translate your intro... my name is Joel, I’ve spent most of my time in fast and really fast jets.... occasionally I’ve flown a slowtation or two.

Nice to have you!

Peace,
Don
