Your rolling around O'Hare reminds me of the second time I flew to KLAX. My first time, I landed on 25L, exited, contacted ground, rolled straight ahead to the FBO. Nothing to it. For departure, got clearance for 25L, taxied out, contacted tower, cleared for takeoff. Piece of cake, right? This big airport stuff seems overrated. I figured they just keep the GA traffic on the south end out of the way of the big iron. Made sense.
It wasn't until my next trip to KLAX, about a year later, that I discovered I had not yet tasted Class Bravo reality. Once again, cleared to land on 25L, exited, contacted ground, rolled straight ahead to the FBO. BTDT. I thought I had this Class B stuff down. Then, when I got my departure clearance, they gave me 24L. What are they talking about? That's way over on the north complex. Certainly they didn't intend to send a lowly little Citation Mustang over there, did they? Yes. They did. Dang. Had to get ready to start writing. Taxi instructions came in rapid spurts. Alpha6 Alpha to Golf, hold short 25L... Cross 25L, hold short 25R... Cross 25R, left on Bravo, hold short Sierra, contact Ground 12X.xx... Right on Sierra, follow the Southwest 737, hold short Delta, contact ground 12X.xx. Then, it turned into grid lock. Stop and go on Sierra like we were on I-405. Finally, Proceed to Echo, right on Echo, the 737 will be turning off to the gate, then follow the 777 to Echo7. I kept a comfortable distance behind the 777 and sat there in awe of it as it waited ahead to my left waiting to enter 24L. After several minutes it was cleared to line up and wait. I taxied up to the hold line. The massive 777, which was bound for Tokyo, finally was cleared for takeoff. I started my timer and felt the rumble and watched the heat come from the back of it. Eventually, it started to roll. Then it slowly rolled along for what looked liked two miles and the nose finally elevated for a while. Then, it became airborne. Whew. What a sight. After a 737 landed, I was finally cleared for takeoff. It was 30 minutes since I started taxiing.
Now, I get it. Sometimes it works easily, and sometimes it doesn't. I'm glad I had extra fuel onboard. I just didn't realize I'd use it on the ground instead of in the air.

You're getting into PC12 performance there with almost triple the fuel burn

Oh..first time I heard runway conditions 1,1,1. Sanded 100 feet wide. Ice basically. It stopped fine on the taxiway.

Mark, had a look at the winds, maybe 25k headwind component at that altitude on average? So I’m thinking you had it pulled back to stretch the range? BTW, nice ride... “hey, I’m just gonna cruise down to Scottsdale, see you later on for cocktails!”

BTW, nice ride... “hey, I’m just gonna cruise down to Scottsdale, see you later on for cocktails!” I ran it at 99% vs 104%. Range was the key. Winds were favorable.

They arrive just as it drops to 1/4. Meanwhile ORD drops to 1/8th. We have two suitable airports within 60 miles that are good VFR. But American doesn’t serve them. Only Delta. So off they go to KMSP. Our weather will be below minimums for the next 48 hours. American doesn’t fly to ksaw from KMSP. Basically these people are hosed.
This is why we have a jet. “ Elite “ gots nuttin’ to do with it. It’s common sense. Just sayin. Update on this disaster. Due Sunday night...diverted to MSP. Was scheduled to fly to MQT this morning. Cancelled. Pax flown to Chicago...where they started. Rescheduled for tonight. Cancelled. Rescheduled for tomorrow night. So American will have to find a way to fit 3 flights into one. This is why you can’t have a multi state business in Marquette unless you have access to GA.

This sounds to me like the actress who always mandates her own beauty light on set. I might buy into that except that while Mike does defend his opinions with vigor I don't recall much self promotion of his abilities (piloting or other) in his posts.
