YOOPR intersection on an approach in Colorado being flown by a Yooper from Marquette?

Wonder how that intersection name ended up in Colorado instead of the U.P. Of Michigan?

Tom I am showing YOOPR as a fix just north of Winslow Arizona. Is the spelling different of the fix in Colorado

Yoopr is a fix on the yotes5. It is indeed near Winslow...it should be in the UP. The Yotes5 is what we fly to Telluride Colorado.

I didn’t look close enough to realize that was the complete flight plan rather than part of the approach into TEX. The discussion was about the approach so guess that had me thinking that rather than looking closer at it. Either way, wondering why an intersection out west gets a name like YOOPR when it have been so much appropriate up here?

BTW, I have enjoyed this thread, having just moved up from a Mooney Rocket to a prop jet I built in my garage. It’s not in the same league as you guys but cruising over 300 knots it’s a good bump up from Mooney speeds.

Returned to Telluride this morning to pick up my friends. Had a rocker trip pop up on Sunday. This is a 360 view of the landing. The most notable thing is how the wings were rocking just short of the runway. Wish I was wearing my heart rate monitor.

Best way to watch is flip it around and watch me. Especially inside the 500 call out You see it rock pretty good. All the while maintaining glide path and speed.

Pretty easy to see the point of maximum pucker. :bugeye: The old saying about a sledgehammer and a nail comes to mind.

Well done!

Mark - I thought that was your 310 tied down at KMMH when I landed Friday evening. I was skiing this morning when I saw a 310 heading across the Sierras. I figured it was you but wasn’t sure. Did you go to Van Nuys later in the day? I was driving out of Prop Park West and saw the same 310 leaving the fuel pit. Coincidence or??
