That's the sign of an over-exciting, non-standard arrival.

I've noticed it in all kinds of airplanes from time to time, including large cabin fracs and even one I was driving.

Pulls into FBO flaps extended, recogs and landing lights on, and if my IR glasses are in my pocket protector, heats.

I always chuckle, and wonder what happened to them.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it's a 5-year event and not a new procedure.

Now that’s cute, and accurate. Up to and especially including the “even the one I was driving”

My 340 had Robertson STOL which extended the flaps so far that you couldn't fully open the air-stair door. Not only did other pilots realize my blunder, but my non-pilot passengers did as well when they couldn't get out of the plane! It happens to the best of us.

Mission today was flying from KSAW to KMDW for important meetings with bankers (two of whom travelled from NYC and Atlanta) to accomodate my schedule. Next likely meeting mid to late April if we miss this opportunity. So it’s a big deal. Alas the weather is funky at Ksaw. Blowing dust results in 1/2 mile viz below about 5 feet. Unrestricted viz above. But a brief bout of freezing rain hardens and the runway is declared usable. :grr:

Don’t need no stinking brakes but whatever.

Bankers has flights to catch. Moved meeting 2 hours and from downtown to Signature. Made it. Meeting was accomplished. Relationship built. Meaningful.

Positives: 1) I got to fly, 2) I got to fly into a big boy airport (3) ORD always makes you feel like you in da game yo. 4) met many of the Chicago blackhawks who were charting to Denver 5) achievement of banker meeting

Negatives $8.10 a gal at least 220 gals. I paid the fee...too no fuel. Total bill $1,100. Value of making the meeting? Priceless.

Still $1,100. Hahahaha. 1 finger I am showing. Just one.

Been to KORD twice, KMDW twice, all four times in medium to low IMC.

Honestly, KORD was easier both times. I felt more rushed, more complexity at KMDW. And that doesn't end after rollout either, with KMDW having so many runways and taxiways bunched up and crossing.

KORD is definitely more expensive...

ORD cause they were departing from there and I was late. Midway if I was on time and meeting them downtown.

Bad case of indigestion? Trying to think of that type. Very distinctive snout.

In Chicago I see. Mark, you might consider turning off your geo-tagging on your camera if you haven't thought about it...

On the picture, well, at least they get noticed. On the other hand, they get noticed!

Good idea. My trips to Area 51 could get me in trouble!
