They have more than 500 orders... http://www.avweb.com/eletter/archives/1 ... ail#220749

...and 200 people working on this.

It really does look pretty cool! I hope it succeeds!

There is a guy here at KJWN that has position #4 (the first position available to the public) in the Cirrus Vision Jet. This guy also has position #41 too. A very close friend of mine will be piloting him and his clients with it. Will be interesting to see this bird when she is delivered. My buddy is about to start training at Cirrus to get his type rating in the Vision since he will be the first one outside of the company to fly this aircraft.

That might be a hot seller in China if they ever develop enough airports that provide permission to land on.

Hot seller?

They already have more than 500 orders....and production is still 2 years away.

I wonder what the demographics of the buyers on the deposit list is. Might prove interesting - who and where are the planes going.

At almost 2 Million per plane for a 5 seater, think it might be more for show or write offs. Certainly not for the cost per seat! The particular guy here at KJWN that is buying 2 of the jets already has 3 SR22s (less than a year old) and a Phenom 100. :bugeye:

I wonder what the depreciation is going to look like on these (for those of us that buy used).

I took a look at the model this year at OSH and listened to the sales pitch carefully since I could "save" $50,000 as a new Cirrus buyer. I was not impressed. I would rather have a number of aircraft other than this one for $2 million.

One of the benefits to giving them your deposit is supposedly that your price is either guaranteed or guaranteed not to exceed a fixed sum plus an inflationary amount. Again, not impressed. But it sounds good til you listen close.

I am happy for Cirrus that they are getting close to production and I hope they will be able to produce them as fast as they say they will. I hope all 500 position holders all step forward and actually take delivery. That would be great for GA!

But I'm not holding my breath.

How many people are going to repeat aviation mistakes!
Shades of Jim Beatty" and Eclipse.
There was billions lost in the Eclipse fiasco.
I met people that bought 5 positions in the single engine Eclipse, after they announced they were broke!
I can't imagine how rich people get rich doing stuff like this.
If the plane gets built they will be for sale then. Why gamble millions on a cartoon dream?

.

I'm curious, which "number of aircraft other than this one" would you rather have in the $2 million price range?
