Did you see the video where he was picking it up from the seller and doing a cockpit check out? I thought it was funny that he was surprised by the modern avionics and kept saying he didn't need any of that stuff for his type of flying. I kept thinking "if you don't need it, why didn't you buy an old one that doesn't have them?

I saw that, it’s fun following him with ForeFlight, just to see some new country’s. That boy gets around, very positive speaker.

Here’s another version of a biplane. Not open cockpit but it is a bundle of fun.

This is Big Red - a Pitts Model 12 that we took delivery of last summer. First flight after delivery in it was to Oshkosh and then a flight back to Rhode Island.

It took a little while to get used to but I’m finally enjoying it.

Zeke

Edit: yes, I’m one of those people who can’t figure out how to get a photo to post correctly. But then again, it is a Pitts so maybe this is the rightful position. Z.

What my hangEr’s gonna have when I’m done with Citabria...
Or a Great Lakes
And a Waco
And a Gullwing Stinson.
And a Beech 18
And a Super Cub
And...

JGG gave me the fever to expand me dreams and own a bunch o airplanes before I git too old to enjoy.

At 54 and only 4 so far I will probably never get to 10 but weez gotta work toward our dreamz

I got some air under the tires of my Stearman a couple of times this past week. It’s been ground-bound longer than I’d like due to a move to a new airport and hangar, COVID-19 precautions and some poor weather. I was captured in the process of clearing some of my rust from the lay-off. Photo credit goes to Matt Milligan - the image was taken at my new base of Aurora, IL (ARR)

There was a Bücker that shared a hangar with me when I was based at Aero Valley (52F - Roanoke, TX) back in the late 80s. I admired it - it placed the lust for a biplane in my heart.

Great thread!

I started flying a N2S for our (New Orleans) CAF wing this summer. It's been so dang hot down here but I've flown it more often than the Eagle or my Bonanza. Lots of 20 min flights for paying customers or charity rides for first responders. It's fun now but I'm really looking forward to cooler temperatures to fully enjoy the experience.

3 years with this now, and every flight is special. Taking in the smells and sights while cruising low and slow, the sound of wind through the flying wires, the pulsing vibration and lovely sound of the radial engine, the connection with aviation history, well it all transports the pilot and passengers into a different dimension.

It's a 2007 Classic Waco YMF 5-C.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with the factory support and the people at Waco. They are also expanding their physical facilities and production in Battle Creek and make continuous improvement to their production and product line. They are even building an adjacent restaurant on the field.

"Ask any pilot" :pilot: ;)

Chuck-

I'm not familiar with that term. Could you elaborate?

Ahh, thank you! I call that OMA.... to follow your lead. Old Man Aerobatics. I expect the Waco is much like the Stearman and is a good aerobat.

The F33C is pretty good at that as well;)
