I took the Cougar's Tiger over to my AP, Frank Shumpert who owns Aviation Maintenance Services in Camden, SC. Frank in addition to servicing planes has a thriving business building and restoring old war birds. He had one in the hangar and another on the ramp. I thought you guys may like to see the photos.

If we ask Frank nicely maybe he will share some additional photos of his warbird projects over the years.

If you ever find yourself near Breckenridge Texas, stop by Ezell Aviation. Nelson Ezell builts some of the nicest warbirds in the world and I have never met a craftsman like him. At any given moment there can be as many as 10 planes in his hanger, from Sea Furys to Ford Tri-Motors to B25's One of the nicest men you will ever meet and checked out in about every plane known to man I think!

Greg,

I'm not an Aviation Enthusiast so I can't tell you exactly what kind of bird that is. I've seen many such planes in Frank's shop but these are the first I took the time to snap a couple of photos.

Frank had a unique project a couple of years ago that he built for an elderly gentleman. I wish I would have gotten some photos of the build.

Frank keeps promising me a ride but so far I haven't collected.

Taking pictures of war birds because they're cool is the sure sign of an Aviation Enthusiast, talking about Bonanzas for hours on end in fish camp is the sure sign of an Aviation Enthusiast, making over 8000 posts on BT is a sure sign of an Aviation Enthusiast, need I go on?
Rick, you ARE an Aviation Enthusiast! :bud:

Rick, you ARE an Aviation Enthusiast! :bud:

Just to be technically correct, I listened to conversations at the fish camp about Bonanzas for hours on end. I only talked about 15 minutes.

I've got to get over the Seaplane addiction first. Seaplanes are much like CRACK.

Doug, you're killing me! I have the rating but that's just a few days of fun flying that sets you up to spend even more money on aviation. I would have something if I could just find that perfect partner in TVC area. Hint, hint!!! ;)
