This was posted over on the Waco board, but I figured more than a few here would appreciate the beauty of the scenery - and, of course, the airplane...

Enjoy!

C. K., Glad to see how you are enjoying your plane. Also, I'm sure Fred Scott is thrilled to have placed the plane in your care.

CK, had breakfast with Joe Sasser last Sunday and he told me you had brought your beautiful Waco over to Pecan while I was in CA on business and to attend the Barrett Jackson car auctions in Orange County. Sorry I missed you, maybe next time. Don

Thank you for sharing, CK. My dad was born April 5, 1933. I did a little research on NC13071 and found that it was sold new on April 13, 1933. Very likely it was being built or test flown on my dad's birth date. He became a private pilot in 1961 and flew off and on until just a few years ago. Still flies with me when we can.

That vid was posted on the NWC Forum. And you all are right - it is a stunning piece of work. Both the filmmaking and the restoration on that old biplane. These things are better now than when they left the factory...people put a lot of time and love into them so knuckleheads like me can go cruise around on Saturday mornings!

Yeah, I'm sorry the timing didn't work out, Tom. Definitely give a holler next time you're down this way. Might even invite ol' Dave Siciliano along - he's a pretty good feller even if he now burns kerosene...

Yeah - sorry we missed you. He gave me the whole Pecan tour...I love that place!

If you were just a little closer to downtown...Joy wants me to take her down there sometime. Maybe I'll bring her down for a look-see.

I think the FAA should extend the 3d Class medical exemption to open cockpit biplanes with round engines. I can see myself in one of those someday when I don't have to be anywhere at any particular time for any particular reason. Bugs on my teeth. :cross:
