Which reminds me how lucky we are to be flying something that has so many hours behind it. I helped an old airplane partner drop off his JetProp for service the other day and on the way back he asked whether the systems on my Baron were still the old ... 60's-70's technology. I responded ... well ... yes ... for the most part but I'm perfectly happy with a proven product. Monkey around with something too much and there might be unintended results. We also discussed the fact that the JetProp's tail almost fell off I'm all for the engine manufacturers working on a better product but I'm fully aware that it's challenging to make a lightweight, reliable, powerful and fuel efficient powerplant subject to the rigors of changing altitude, temps, ice etc. Oh ...and in tiny volumes with huge liability concerns! Just ask Bombardier. Love that Continental 550. Mike

Thats understandable, but if you are going to make an engine, you need to have all these factors present. That is why building engines isn't such an easy thing. If you are gonna make an engine, make it right or don't make it at all. Its a shame though, I was really looking forward for the DA50.
