Ok, I just got the approval to be a Service Center for Cubcrafters so now all you BT'ers that get Carboncubs so you can engage in mass Fly-in into Jim's place have a place to bring them for service.

You can get a Top Cub with floats, don't think floats are an option for the Carbon Cub, but I'll check and let you know.

What color CC do you want? The sooner you get your order in the sooner you and Jim can do some formation flights.

Username Protected wrote: They are very nice. 200 k? Really? Starting price is somewhere around $165K. However, if you add very many bells and whistles (as I did) you can get up to $200K easily. But for that you get a brand spanking new airplane with better performance than the Super Cub. You get the best power-to-weight ratio available in pretty much anything but the most exotic piston powered airplanes (7.3 pounds per horsepower). You get an airplane, which when operated per the placard) generally runs on 5-6 gallons per hour and is both amazingly fun to fly and affordable for just poking around the local strip on a pleasant evening. Or you can pack in enough for some very rustic camping...and get into pretty much any strip (or sandbar) you want to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHZinkRA ... ure=relmfuOh, yeah...the fit and finish take second place to nothing I've ever seen in the aviation world. So, $200K? Really! Show me another _brand new airplane_ that's close, bang for the buck! Oh, and I mean that with no grumpiness or defensiveness...I made the choice and am increasingly pleased with it...call it cognitive dissonance or just plain joy. Jim

Oh yeah, Matt, you are absolutely right! Coolest thing (and this is coming from someone who knows very little about the bush flying world) the airplane has two stainless steel lifting points next to the fuel caps on top of the wing. So if one wants to change to floats/skis/bigger or smaller tires, one just hooks a winch to those two lift points, hoist the <1000 pound airplane up and make the change. The attach points are already there for floats or skis.
And add to the cost the $70K hangar and around $20K runway on my property and the cost goes up even further...
Altho, walking out to the hangar and taking off from my property...Priceless!
Jim

As previously related, I agonized over the $200K price for a while...until I actually flew the demo airplane. I wish I had it to do over again to take some more pictures of the aileron hinges, flap hinges, detail after detail...just purty and fine. It is, after all, only money. August comes rapidly! Jim
