He now reports that the spar is bent.
Entire wing needs replacing.

That's really to bad for this guy. It took me 400 hours to build the wings for my RV and to do another I can't see it taking him less than 175, even having built before. Wow, he must be sick over this. Building a plane is like the guy version of giving birth.

A former Beech accident investigator told me that this kind of event would bring down an early Bonanza that doesn't have solid spars. The ram air supposedly would blow the skins off the wing behind the spar like a bomb went off in it. :hide:

I don't know when they switched to solid spars, but he told me that Beech offered to replace wings at no cost and that very few owners opted for this.
