Actually, I suspect the pilot taxied over the edge while doing a run-up and listening to music - all at the same time.
After he was brought up from the hangAr deck.
And running a tank dry.
Getting ready for an IFR formation flight.
Followed by a landing that exceeded the demonstrated crosswind.
But had to dive back in to recover the book he was reading .........
