My friend's brother is an executive with Virgin Galactic, Branson's space tourist company. Here are some pictures I was emailed from a recent event they had. Pretty wild stuff!

COOL!

The iteration from White Knight One to White Knight Two, and Space Ship One to Two is significant!

These aircraft/spacecraft are indeed "cool".

Looking over the Virgin Galactic website I noticed this statement:
"For nearly 30 years, Scaled Composites, the designers and builders of Virgin Galactic's space launch system, has been responsible for some of the world's most innovative experimental aircraft and has a safety record that is second to none."

Didn't SC have a rocket engine explosion that killed three workers? As much as I admire Burt Rutan's out of the box designs, I can't see how one could call their safety record "second to none".

Depends on your 'peer group'. If your peer group is 'other private manned space flight enterprises', that claim is not so crazy.
