Just got this in the ol email...
New company buys Eclipse, says it will start servicing planes next month A new company, Eclipse Aerospace, is set to purchase the liquidated remains of Eclipse Aviation for $40 million through a federal bankruptcy court auction. While the deal must be finalized in court this week, Eclipse Aerospace president Mason Holland said his company would be able to start upgrading and servicing the existing fleet of Eclipse 500 very light jets by September, New Mexico Business Weekly reported. Since Eclipse shut down earlier this year, there has been no way for owners to get their planes repaired. And about 260 of the first planes to come off the production line lack flight into known icing protection and need upgrades to their avionics software. Eclipse Aerospace has said little about what its long term plans will be, though city officials in Albuquerque, N.M., say they expect Eclipse's production facilities there to reopen. Several other bidders, including a group of Eclipse owners who wanted to form a co-op, emerged this spring to buy up Eclipse. But Eclipse Aerospace was the only one to submit a bid to the bankruptcy court.
