...and you know what the neat thing is? I've only had the privilege of being in Dr. Buechler's hangar and meeting him once, and he was very approachable, personable...just a regular nice guy. It's cool to see someone who's achieved the station in life to be able to have his own P51 and really fly and maintain it the right way be a regular guy. We've had the privilege of seeing his Mustang over the skies of SE Wisconsin for many years.

By the by, I was told what all of this cost Dr. Buechler. Let's just say that we should be happy to only care and feed a Bo.

The Mustang would be the perfect airplane if it had a P&W 2800 on it. The merlin is a race horse... the 2800 is a workhorse.....

So the P47 is the perfect airplane? Username Protected wrote: The Mustang would be the perfect airplane if it had a P&W 2800 on it. The merlin is a race horse... the 2800 is a workhorse..... So the P47 is the perfect airplane? I love 'em both, especially the razor back variants. My hangar was once owned by a P47 pilot. Ed Humphries. That guy had more stories, both war and life. Kept a 2 seater Pitts in it. Great guy. RIP.
