I watched this when seriously considering an Acclaim. Nicely done video, notice they are using canulas well above altitudes you are required to wear masks.

The present Acclaim/Ovation actually aren't that cramped in the back or front seats, much more room than the earlier shorter bodies. Once you learn how to get in and out I found it quite comfortable.

Great, now the only excuse is that I can't afford it.

My first flight instructor always said to me: "You don't get in a Mooney, you put one on!"

I think that's a good way to put it Yves. I actually find Mooneys quite comfortable. I love having my legs stretched out in front like that.

I'll try and sit in one this weekend - if I recall they are good for tall/thin guys like yourself and not for short/fat guys like me :D

Exactly... I relate Mooneys to being like a Porsche, Beechcraft being more like a BMW.

seen these vids a few times, the stuff those guys do is unreal.

A friend from the airport flew his T182S to Ireland a few summers ago, and he's on his way to Norway in the next few weeks (I forget exactly when), in the 182 again. The pictures and stories he has are unbelievable. He wrote about the trip in COPA (some of you may have read it). It can be found here

http://www.copanational.org/CC-42.cfm

He's on his way to Nunavut now

The music is killing me.

Why are they slow? 190TAS at 22000? I thought the Acclaim was fast?

They're using an economy setting burning probably 12-13 gph.

As I have owned a Mooney I believe there is plenty of room. You literally sit as if you were on the floor in a Mooney versus a Bananza where you feel like sitting on a chair. There is also a tunnel feeling when in a Mooney and the windshield is small to add to the issues. But there is plenty of room. To me they handle great and the performance including fuel economy is to die for.

This is germane and came in my email this morning. Despite owning a Bonanza, I laughed ;)

I was on V16 just off New York's JFK Airport at 6,000 feet when New York departure called.

Departure: "Mooney One Victor Sierra, say airspeed."

Me: "One hundred seventy-five knots."

Departure: "Bonanza Five Eight Two, say speed."

Bonanza: "One five five."

Departure: "Can you go any faster?"

Bonanza: "Negative."

Departure: "Mooney One Victor Sierra, reduce speed to one five zero."

Me: "No Problem. I'll slow it down for the Bonanza."

Unknown Voice: "Ouch. That's gonna leave a mark."
