It ain't no 787, Neal, but paint me jealous nonetheless. Have fun up there in the friendly skies.
When I'm flying with a good guy (which is most of the time), the job is a blast. Just finished a 2-day trip tonight. Flew from Newark NJ (EWR) to Santa Ana CA (SNA) yesterday. Had a 27 hour layover then flew back tonight. I was flying with a guy I've flown with before and we literally cracked each other up the whole way across the country (and back). Attached is a photo I took yesterday of the Grand Canyon from 40,000 feet. The snow makes for an interesting contrast.
If you are into arcane things about airplanes, check out the 737-300 picture above (the one with me and the other guy I'm flying with) and check out the split in the throttles. Every plane is different...so every plane has a different amount of split. Fortunately the NG's don't have this problem but the "classics" definitely do. Those of you who have flown the -300 (Larry Olson comes to mind) know what I am talking about. That said, out of the 300, 500, 700, 800, 900, and 900ER (we have all of those), the -300 is the sweetest flying of all of them.
