Just wanted to give you guys a glimpse into our world and start a discussion about the Citation CJ3+
On Tuesday we closed a CJ3+ for a Ohio based client. It was a great deal, off market airplane, through Textron, the seller couldn't be a nicer, more reasonable guy! I'm used to making new friends who are clients, but in this case I got a bonus friend!
West Star in Grand Junction did the prepurchase inspections and did a great job, communication was great and they were able to do the inspections quickly and proficiently.
We did have a failed brake accumulator on the way to closing in Wichita (can't close in Colorado) but YingLing in Wichita took good care of us! My right hand man Sam Ray was on board for the delivery and did a great job of handling everything! He's on his way to Ohio as I write this to complete the delivery.
I have the best job in the whole world, and as a young pilot Sam is loving life, getting to fly right seat in a CJ3+ is huge!
Though we have done numerous CJ3's, this is actually our first 3+ (our last 3+ client decided on a Phenom 300E instead)
What an awesome airplane. The CJ3 is already they workhorse of the fleet, but that airplane married with Garmin avionics is simply stellar! Especially for an owner pilot like our client.

Mike
While I agree with you that at times Chip crosses the line into obvious marketing, your response is actually having the opposite effect. Ignoring these type of threads will decrease it's impact more than a critique.
On the other hand, I do enjoy the banter and the eventual information dispersed along with it. Reminds me a lot of you and Ken Meyer on CPA, though to Chip's credit, he never gets as personally insulting as Ken would.

More like it seems Chip lives rent-free in your head. Good grief, just block him already.

Mike, do you make donations to BeechTalk? I could appreciate the outrage if we all paid a fee for the website, but we don't. The sponsors pay for it.

I always learn something in each. I agree. I love learning about all of these aircraft. I’m very grateful for the MU-2 thread, Avanti thread, the 501 thread, and Chip’s threads, all of which inspire me to visualize an upgrade path. Otherwise we’d all be flying Cirruses.

Mike - You are one of the smartest kids in the class. Maybe you weren't in class the day the teacher told us about the logo and what it means on BeechTalk.
Additionally, I enjoy reading these stories from Chip on here or from other aviation sellers/buyers on the Book of Faces. Lastly, BT is likely not the highest return market for Chip, so I enjoy that he spends time with us. My only "beef" is that we don't get a flight deck picture (with the identifying info redacted of course). I love flight deck p0rn whther it is analog or digital.
Regards,
Bob

When I look at logs of ones for sale or talk to owners, they don’t. I’ve always made it inspection to inspection on my last two Citations.

When I look at logs of ones for sale or talk to owners, they don’t. They have warts like all planes, but what they do have is exceptional service. So that busted part that may AOG a mortal plane for 4-6 weeks, is an overnight visit by the Textron service truck.
