For example: hop in at home for a quick trip to the grocery store - where are you going to land? What are the safety implications for you and those on the ground wherever that might be?

We might be thinking of this the wrong way...
The grocery store parking lot gets a FOD cleanup from the downwash with each takeoff and landing. It's like a leaf blower on steroids. Why not monetize the service provided to the store manager?
Think big- ink a contract with the whole grocery store chain!

Along that thought train, if the Jetson One is supposed to allow you to make short but useful trips, why did they need to truck it to an open area for the demo?

A lot cheaper and easier than a real helo Cheaper, maybe, but 15 minutes at a time (allowing a reserve) then what? Plug it into the portable generator on the trailer you brought it on and wait? I think it’s a toy, and not a particularly practical one at that. Certainly not a very safe one, either for the occupant or those around it.
