Textron purchased Pipistrel in 2022. After that, I stopped seeing any updates on the Panthera. It’s a shame. The Panthera seems to be an impressive aircraft and we need the innovation it brings to the GA market.

I hope we see. It in production one day, but I’m not optimistic….

Textron/Cessna have given lip service to advancing the state of the art in single engine piston planes several times over the last 2-3 decades, but still haven't really executed. There was the Next Gen Piston program, and then they bought the Columbia line for pennies on the dollar, but eventually killed that too. Now they have perhaps the latest evolution of an efficient piston XC plane that would be my dream replacement of my beloved Mooney 201 but they don't seem to want to do anything with it either. I wonder if they really want to do anything besides crank out 172s for flight schools?

I don’t waste time wondering. The answer is no.
