When I was a prosecutor, a judge asked me if I wanted to see some “beaver pics”. I enthusiastically said yes. Being the criminal courthouse, we regularly dealt with pretty racy material and there was a high level of irreverence . Back in chambers, we looked at photos of large semi aquatic rodents that were damming the stream behind his house.

I learned my lesson and was not fooled by this topic, but I still clicked on it….

Fun to fly, sucks to strip and paint. Sorry for the poor quality, old copies of 50 year old photos.

Paging Mark Hangen…… he’s got a lot of experience with beavers. Got his float rating in one.

Wow. Hard to figure what the plan was there. I did some float flying off Lake Hood this past summer. If you’re used to tightly controlled, disciplined surface maneuvering and pattern work better buckle up if Lake Hood is in your plans.

Keeping old S/N 86 airworthy.
DHC-2.com has great histories on each airframe. 20,000 hrs is a long career.

A stout, yet nimble bird.

N1966B was at one time the lowest total time Beaver worldwide.

Started off with an illustrious career in North Africa with the desert locust patrol and is presently semi-retired in the Czech Republic.
