Tecnam has released their new P2006T NG. I've always liked these planes, perhaps because they remind me of a smaller Commander. Mainly used by training facilities, but perhaps these improvements will make it more of a personal aircraft to own? They've certainly gone full Cirrus leather on interior, as you can see in promotional film. But the technical improvements are also pretty good:

1. Engines uprated to the fuel injected Rotax 912Sc3, giving better high altitude performance and reduced fuel consumption. Tecnam claims 14 litres/hour per engine.
2. Additional front door for the co-pilot. This is huge.
3. External access to the baggage compartment.
4. Bigger windows.
5. Wing position and anti-collision lights integrated into winglets with LED bulbs
6. New central console that houses a FMS GCU477 keyboard for management of all the Garmin avionics.
7. Garmin GFC700 3-axis autopilot

Cool looking plane! I want one! Wonder what price will be?

PS. for the next upgrade, I'd like to see the 915 engines, more fuel capacity and TKS de-ice. Then it would a real traveling contender.

Cool. Needs more pictures of the airplane and less of random people.

Cool video, bruh. No wonder you like it, being in that biz......

Vid gives ZERO information on capability, however. Maybe I'm an old curmudgeon, but.....propaganda pieces do nothing for me, without data backed up by tests.

Glad they made the side cockpit windows taller. I sat in one and it seemed like a real hazard

I almost bought one new about 9 years ago. Well, almost let the bank buy one for me.

The numbers on the price, operating cost, throwaway (basically) engines, and consumables were not bad. With 300-ish hours annually on a leaseback with a commercial policy, I could break even or turn a little profit on it.

They are impressive little planes. It’s nice to see an upgrade to the aircraft.

When these first came out I thought the personal (as opposed to training) market for these could be described as a "Twin Engine 182". Some initial videos were "Hoover-esque" in their flying/maneuvering with OEI. Very cool.

I really think they missed the mark on this upgrade by not putting in the 916 and really going after the personal travel market as an alternative to Cirrus.

(The 912 engine it has are 100hp. The 916 is rated for 160hp for 1 min and 137 hp continuous).

While probably an irrational concern (esp since I'll probably never buy one of these), I think of the Beech G36 issues with having/how the Garmin panel was part of the TCDS. Has the industry figured out how to support future upgrades of these airplanes with better avionics as the current avionics become un-supported?

I still think these are cool, though.

Funny to watch the Cirrus G7 video. So similar. Very cool looking plane, from what I can see.

We fly some of the special mission version as sensor platforms. UL is challenging and hot and high don't mix well. Dispatch rate is good, and pilots seem to like them.

What fuel? It says, "mogas and avgas", but doesn't say if 94UL is specifically approved.

But at 148kts "max cruise" and 904lbs of useful load, it just doesn't do anything to make me want it.

Even with a small bump in power, it still wouldn't be enough.

I wish it was.

I’ve seen and sat in them in person, and they’re very groovy.

As for the cool video people, I sympathize as I have a face made for radio.

It is still hard to believe that they are still less, new, than a 15 year old Diamond DA-42 TwinStar. Granted, I haven't seen the NG's pricing, just this year's. ...and what the Tecnam P2006T was going for in 2016 and is going for now. Both the Diamond and Tecnam light twin aircraft have maintained their value surprisingly well but likely had help from the "COVID bump" that helped out the personal and corporate aircraft prices in the GA market.
...maybe that's a declining twin market post.

I did my twin training in a Tecnam and really liked flying it. It was small but fun and personally I would rather fly this than a 182.

Glad that you are now living in the flight levels and aren't slumming it down here with the rest of us!

My daughter flies them at Baylor.
They have a fleet of Tecnams.
She loves it!
Much nicer than a clapped out Travelaire which is what I got my twin rating in.
