What Is It?

I watched this plane taxi in the other day and couldn't figure out what it was, but found out. I'll give some time to see who names it.

Is that Healdsburg Municipal?

Dan

It's Lampson Field, Lakeport, CA , 1O2, near Clear Lake, Lake County.

Ok, but how do you get in and out? I am unable to see a door or space for a sliding canopy. I must be missing something…

If that’s a sliding canopy the fit and finish is really good to hide the seams..l

Here's a picture of the door on the left side. The canopy was removed and a fixed cabin roof engineered.

Ralph Harmon had some interesting comments about the Navion as a competitor to the Bonanza. He said the Navion with its built-in headwind was Beech's best sales tool.

I didn't see any crusty old relics in the background so I didn't think of Lampson.

Much of that built in head wind comes from a larger frontal area, including a 5 inch wider cabin than the Bonanza.

When touring northern Nevada, the airport at Winnemucca (or was it Elko?), I stumbled upon flock of Rangemasters.
