I know next to nothing about this plane. An acquaintance of mine just bought one. Looks interesting - how would it compare to a late model 172 Skyhawk? Since the Tecnam is powered by a Continental water cooled FADEC TDI engine, it seems pretty advanced by comparison. What’s the good, the bad, and the ugly?

Personally I am not very impressed by the Thielert (eventually purchased by Continental) and SMA engines.

Hopefully DeltaHawk and RED engines will provide real solutions.
