I really think some high-quality instruction would change everything for you and with your experience, shouldn’t take long at all. Maybe even just one day. I don’t know where you’re located but some outfit like the guys at Tutima or Patty Wagstaff saying “ This is how we do it, now let’s go work some landings” would do the trick. Good luck, you don’t want to develop a bad relationship with the bird.

Sorry that It went. I guess i should have been more clear on my post of Nov 23 on my intention to buy if you didn't find the 300 to your liking. Good move, regardless.

I'm not a quitter but I know my limits. 5 years ago, I was significantly cockier and would have dominated this machine but I have a 5 year old kid now and this sort of bird has zero purpose in my life. The Fun to Death ratio was out of skew. I don't miss it! You're finding your "fun" in productive and meaningful enterprise also. Thats a LOT more fun.

Makes the Lancair IV seem tame. 420 roll rate. So far not in love with it. Just for education, wondering what aspects of the IV you found not very tame.

The IV-P is the one of the nicest/easiest/relaxing flying airplane I’ve ever flown. It’s an absolute joy to fly and very honest. The MU-2 is a little scarier than the IV. The extra steps it up a notch from the Mitsubishi. Of course either will kill you if you get them slow.

Michael, I understand completely your decision to sell. I also agree that these kinds of airplanes have a very limited useful purpose other than what they were originally designed to do. As for the landing height judgement issue, I came upon a solution, and it wasn’t even that expensive (for aviation). Garmin has a landing height sensor, it can connect to the G3X and actually display agl altitude readouts (Garmin GHA 15). I also have a LIDAR system on my AirCam that I absolutely love, it walks you down to the runway in feet above touchdown. When it says 0, the tires squeak. But I chose the landing height system from Microkit Solutions ( https://landingheight.com/) for my Gamebird. For about 1 AMU, I got the hardware installed at the recent annual, but still need to connect the wire to the audio panel (next week perhaps). My friend has one in his Mooney and it is fantastic. No more guessing. You can nail every landing. Butch
