This is a great presentation on Preflight planning for this 14000NM trip:

Piotr is a good friend. The trip starts tomorrow and I’ll post updates.

Man, planning a trip like that would be so much easier using Jet-A than Avgas.

For the record, its 'Broome' - as in 'room'!

Looks exiting!

From experience, I would avoid VAAH (Ahmedabad) and go instead to VANP (Nagpur). Ideally only one stop in India. If range is a factor, there are other possible airports.

YRBM (Broome) is cool, great hotels and beaches.

Have a great flight!

That is what the parachute is for, to exit.

…but they wouldn’t need a parachute if the plane had a 2nd engine.

They certainly wouldn't need as many fuel stops, either.

19 legs, 14000 nm averages 736 nm each one. Longest is 1082 nm, last leg in Australia. Shortest is 560 nm flying in Indonesia.

I bet they end up with more stops due to weather, winds, or other issues.

And... he is already off plan, landing at KBTV instead of KBGR on the first leg. Hurricane Lee avoidance, presumably. His route wasn't exactly ideal:

I'd be very curious how much fuel he had left after that.

You’ll notice a descent out of 310 over Bridgeport. Autopilot failed. Diverted to KBTY as there is a Cirrus Service center there. Estimate is back in the air Monday..stay tuned…

Interesting choice. Indonesia was brutally expensive in my C182. I imagine an SF50 can only be worse. I'd be flying long legs and stopping as few times there as possible! Maybe there wasn't any way to make fewer Indo stops with the range they have.

Was once asked to ferry a Citation 500 to Australia

They tried twice before and couldn't get the extra tanks to feed

I turned the "offer" down (as I suspect the original crew did also after 2 tries)
