A friend of mine just bought this seaplane (oldest known active and airworthy seaplane): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNGsYpCczBQHe will be keeping it there and continuing to get advanced training. He also bought a Curtis NP-40N that has been fully restored in Australia and is being shipped to his place in Oregon. I have videos of this aircraft also if anyone is interested. Dan

It was for sale and the locals were afraid that some foreign wealthy person would buy it and remove it from it's home. Eric had undergone extensive seaplane instruction in this aircraft and absolutely fell in love with it. He respects the interests of the local community and has pledged to keep it there. Quite a story. Dan

That had to be epic Interesting story: During training, the original Alpha-Romeo engine (even though in excellent working order) leaks oil and it sprays back on the pilot in the front seat. Eric was so taken by this that he did not want to clean himself off when he landed, thinking this was how aviators experienced early flight.
He is totally passionate about flying. Next chapter after the seaplane training in Italy is taking delivery of his totally restored TP-40N (with brand new never flown Allison engine) in Oregon after a few years of work in Australia. I am promised a ride in it as soon as he gains more experience in it (he has been taking instruction for a few years now).
It's all good.
