Of course the world is flat. I just set down my beer and it didn’t roll way!

Username Protected wrote: Very possible unscheduled rapid disassembly. Looks like it ran out of fuel prematurely and fell from about 300 ft high to the lunar surface. Even at the moon's lower gravity, that's going to be a destructive crash. Quote: They may get a bill for loitering... I think a bill for littering is more likely. More on this: https://spaceflightnow.com/2023/04/25/j ... g-attempt/"A preliminary analysis of data from the spacecraft indicated the estimated remaining propellant was “at the lower threshold,” then the lander’s descent speed rapidly increased, ispace said. If the spacecraft ran out of propellant, the lander’s engines would have shut off, causing it to fall to the surface." Their modeling of fuel usage for the trajectory is wrong, or they leaked fuel during the unusually long transfer phase, or they need to design a more efficient trajectory for landing. Reminds me of the Apollo 11 fuel time remaining call outs while Armstrong searched for a suitable place to land. Mike C.

Even if it’s always VMC, they should still have a 30 minute reserve.
