For any of you who have flown both, which has the more comfortable cockpit or are they both about the same? Lear 45 vs Citation Ultra

Thanks

Not flown a Lear 45.

I am pretty comfortable in my V (same cockpit as an Ultra). I'm 6'2", 225 lbs, no not a small guy.

I was worried the floor control column would be annoying, hasn't been an issue.

I had the between seat avionics pedestal removed. Makes ingress and egress WAY better.

Thanks Mike. I have a lot of time in the 550/560 cockpit. The LJ45 is 5 inches wider and 2 inches taller, but looks like the cockpit is tapered from about elbow height on up due to the pointy nose and curved windshields. I'm just wondering if it compares favorably or unfavorably to the Ultra. Probably not a significant enough difference to matter.

Hey Kirk, I’ll text you a couple of names of guys to talk to.

Any Learjet cockpit is an exercise in working with your elbows tucked in.

I am 6'1" and 220# and I fit in the Lear 45 cockpit just fine. If I owned one, I would probably have the seatback cushion trimmed down by 1.5" and then it would be great.

With that said, the 45 is an absolutely wonderful airplane to fly! Easy, honest, and just plain fun. A pilot's airplane. The Citations are all easy and honest, but the Lear is just more fun. The performance, the handling, are spectacular!

"Cockpit is tapered"

That how you can tell a Lear Captain from an FO; the Captain walks around with his head cocked to the right, and the FO walks around with his head cocked to the left. :D
