SpaceX has not yet attempted a full 33-engine test. I anticipate a RUD that will require an extensive rebuild of the launch facilities.

Wouldn't that have been the case with the Saturn V, Shuttle, or any of the mega-rockets?

Wouldn't that have been the case with the Saturn V, Shuttle, or any of the mega-rockets? In 50 years since the Saturn V, I imagine that there has been considerable construction that NASA does not wish to risk. And; the launch tempo is much more frequent now than in the first 40 years. Think: increased risk of disruption to commercial and military payloads.
- Shuttle: ~4 kilotons of TNT - Saturn V: ~7 kilotons of TNT - Starship: ~9 kilotons of TNT - Hiroshima: ~15 kilotons of TNT
These comparisons are a tad tricky as the nuclear explosion is MUCH more rapid.
Musk has commented that if Starship RUDs at Boca Chica, it will set them back ~6 months. Given PT’s horrible history of estimating schedules …
