I’ve been watching it. It’s a good thing it’s being funded by the internet’s. He is not fixing the wings… saying it is only going to fly 50 hours a year? Why? Doesn’t make sense to pour all that money into it and then not really use it.

I think you are referring to the spar strap mod that is required at 6500 hours, not that the wings are timed out in 500 hours. An acquaintance has a 401 and intends to proceed with the strap kit - it is expensive but he likes the plane ( seats seven or 8 and has a 1200 pound payload with full fuel ).

Wasn’t bill austin big into the Russian 52s 18ts etc once upon a time?

I am just happy the views make it worth continuing to work on versus sending it to the big beer can factory in the sky. The one attempt at a reality "fire" had a few people hot under the collar.

There is a guy in Cheyanne Wyoming trying to bring the cougar back. Went to France, bought TC, brought tooling etc back in containers. Last I heard he was seeking investeors, so sounded out of money to me. I talked to him, sounded nice. I think still on internet. I wish him luck
