I can’t imagine the cost of parts to keep that thing going. My buddy was Crew Chief on the Blackhawk over in Afghanistan. He tells storys about failures of components in the desert. The cost to repair… Bit then again, if you have to ask how much….

Does a purchase like this become tax deductible against his YouTube income? Wouldn't ongoing mx become deductible too? I've often wondered how much stuff like this becomes "business" depreciation.

I am curious to see how long he owns it or if he shares the costs of ownership. Pretty cool.

You need to plan on >$5k/hr or a lot more if big things start breaking. You need a type rating and a SIC, so that to deal with. Restricted type certificate limits business and operational options to some degree. Insurance will be, well, let's just say interesting. Better become good friends with the nice people at Brown Helicopters because you'll be calling them for parts at some point.
Here's a couple weeks ago with Alex Anduze and Aaron Fitzgerald (relegated to back seat) in the MovieHawk. I was wondering what category it ended up in. I suppose there isn’t a type certificate for this model? Does Sikorsky make a civilian -60 that can be sold unrestricted? He didn’t say what model, but are these Alphas? As a side note, our local ARNG just got a Mike model with 30 hours on it. Looked it over and it was so neat to see a brand new UH60. Everything so clean and perfect!

The guy has a heavy truck repair, rescue and fab business, so I doubt that he expects YouTube videos to totally fund this adventure. The estimated earnings from his YouTube channel is ~$20k/month.
He already owns and flies a twin turbine BO105 (PP Rotorcraft) and at least one other member of his crew has a fling-wing certificate. External load ops requires Part 133 certification and the requisite experience/logbook endorsement.

I believe that there is/was one in private hands in Tulsa (not sure if it’s the military of civilian version) that is owned by the owner of United States Aviation.
I have heard that he uses it, probably among other things, to hunt feral hogs.

Brad He has two of them. Garmin G3X touches. I honestly don't know how you'd maintain this machine without a full time retired military crew chief working on it. He's the guy that owns the CAA FBO there.

I know a little bit about YouTube earnings. I can assure you he is most likely making more than $20k/month.

He owns a Blackhawk.
Yeah, I'd say so.
