Did I read somewhere that the Lancair Evolution integrated a BRS system on later builds?
Kinda. The BRS system was an option that could be integrated to builds at the factory, or it can be added afterwards to any Evo. But adding the 85 lbs. of the parachute installation behind the aft pressure bulkhead is not great for the CG, which already tends to be aft, like some V-tail Bonanzas. Changes can be made to mitigate that to some extent, but of course that adds to the cost. The EAC president said that the BRS option worked to get Cirrus owners in the door, but once they worked the W&B and considered the famously reliable engine up front, flying at high altitude with a high glide ratio, very few buyers ultimately checked that box. I know of at least one owner who canceled the BRS after his build was already begun, and a second owner who sought out a plane with BRS but has since removed the parachute from the canister.
Bottom line, if you want BRS, it's available and can be added to any Evo, but check the W&B first.
