Breakfast with a G500/600 pilot this morning. He is getting some unanticipated time off. He mentioned a new AD on the fly-by-wire system that limits operations to max winds of 15 knots or gusts exceeding 5 knots. Winds, not crosswinds.

A real first world problem. An operator called today to schedule oxygen service when they can get the airplane here. If it is windy enough to fly a kite the aircraft is grounded. If I just spent 60-70M I might be upset. Dassault had a similar issue with the 7X and fly by wire technology and paid for supplemental lift. Not sure about Gulfstream. Think of the money saved on fuel, a $50K fill up could have some operators rethinking some trips anyhow, winds are foul on multiple fronts.
